Quote: The name COUME OUARNEDE means a somber & mystic place in the Pyrenees, where we can find one of the deepest caves in Europe. This is the ritualistic archaďc project of Yan Arexis, percussionist & co-founder member of well know French pagan folk band Stille Volk, founder & drummer of Sus Scrofa (first pagan black band in France, one of the first in Europe and in the world) & founder of La Breiche (Archaďc Pyrenean folk) and also co-founder of ritual act Cober Ord.
«Celui qui vide les arbres» (The One Who Empty the Trees) is a natural archaďc & ritualistic music, a soundscape of high frozen mountains, deep & dark Pyrenean forest. And this is more than just music. COUME OUARNEDE was born like the music from the first years of humanity, when music was sacred, dedicated to establish contact with Mother Nature divinity, in a magical function. Like the music 10 000 years ago the album was recorded with stones, wood and traditional percussions.

"‘Le Rituel Sacre’ (the sacred ritual) is another modern interpretation of medieval and ancient folk music. Their medieval folk will certainly appeal to fans of Dead Can Dance, The Soil Bleeds Black, Ataraxia and similar acts. The heavenly vocals female singers Anna and Katarina combined with selected male chants in Latin will certainly evoke you. The music offers a wide range of variations, from purest folk to sometimes more electronic interferences, tribal drums, bagpipes, flutes, dulcimer and various other natural instruments. Comes with a beautiful 12 page booklet with texts and great funeral artwork made by Curt Emmer."
Quote from the label : "Deep and dramatic vocals, trumpet and violins, acoustic guitars, military drums, you can think to another neofolk band like many other, but SILENT LOVE OF DEATH could touch the depth of your heart. The romantic feeling encroaches upon the seventeen songs of this album, a great nostalgic atmosphere with classical influences create impressive dark sound. The texts are inspired by poems of E.A Poe, Bequer, W. Blake, Espronceda..."
Splendor Solis (lat. Shining of the Sun) mixes typical dark folk insruments, neoclassical compositional methods and early European musical heritage. Theirs lyrics are inspired by medieval European theology, apocalyptic symbolism, and also by theosophical doctrines and mystical branches of buddism. Splendor Solis' debut album is dedicated to the infinite reincarnation of soul of a man. The album has been created using acoustic instruments only. Music of Splendor Solis is nice, harmonious, not very intricate but melodious right along.
Exquisite gold-surfaced CD comes in hard crafted cardboard sleeve with 12-page booklet in semi-transparent vellum cover.
Quote from label: "The anticipated fifth album from Stormfĺgel. Dark Pop / Neofolk / Martial / Dödstango. Stormfĺgel are well known from their brilliant two albums on Cold Meat Industry. Incredible Scandinavian Martial / Suicide-Pop."
This one is a stroke of genius. Nordic Folk? Ha! This is much more Svarti Loghin captured the cold atmosphere and transfers this into a mixture between ancient folk art, and Johnny Cash(!). Between a prayer, depression, devotion and pure love for live. To be honest: just listen to it ´cause I can´t describe it in words.
