Quote from label:"Requiem For The White Wind” is the third album of the local folk/ambient band Kayno Yesno Slonce, whose driving force is Veselin Mitev from Isihia.
In “Requiem For The White Wind” you can hear genuine Balkan music that flows from the bottom of the soul. Music that carries within itself the timeless glory of the Bulgarian mountains. The voice of the bagpipe makes us close our eyes, transport to another time and listen closely to the rhythm of our hearts. Sacral choirs carry long forgotten voices that tell us old mountain legends.
As usual, many traditional instruments were used in the recording process, such as bagpipe, kaval, duduk and drum.
“Requiem For The White Wind” contains 8 songs and is released in an A5 digipak version with conceptual design by the author".
Quote from label: "This time Mizar hit right in the heart with melodic, yet filled with sorrow songs, sung by the choir for Byzantine and Eastern Orthodox medieval music called “Harmosini”.
Balkan Peninsula is a place where every single stone has his own history and it is soaked with blood. This fact make music from the region filled with sadness and beauty, desperation and courage and love and hate in the same time.
Being dark wave band since the 80’s Mizar gained cult status among the music lovers in Balkan and neighbor countries. But this album is different! It still keeps their trade mark sound, still can be described as Byzantine gothic. It still has slow songs, dark wave feeling, but this time no one of their remarkable leading singers are presented! Deep voices are singing with pride and dedication, the songs were written ages ago and this makes your skin shiver. The choir is the leading singer, which make the album sound much more epic, heroic and thrilling. There are guitar oriented songs and traditional tune of Ljubka Rondova from Bulgaria (“White Sea”).
Close your eyes, and you will see the fall of Constantinople, listen and you will hear the steps of Alexander.
The album is packed in elegant A5 format digibook designed in traditional Balkan Art manner with drawings by Corvus".
"‘Le Rituel Sacre’ (the sacred ritual) is another modern interpretation of medieval and ancient folk music. Their medieval folk will certainly appeal to fans of Dead Can Dance, The Soil Bleeds Black, Ataraxia and similar acts. The heavenly vocals female singers Anna and Katarina combined with selected male chants in Latin will certainly evoke you. The music offers a wide range of variations, from purest folk to sometimes more electronic interferences, tribal drums, bagpipes, flutes, dulcimer and various other natural instruments. Comes with a beautiful 12 page booklet with texts and great funeral artwork made by Curt Emmer."
Quote from the label : "Deep and dramatic vocals, trumpet and violins, acoustic guitars, military drums, you can think to another neofolk band like many other, but SILENT LOVE OF DEATH could touch the depth of your heart. The romantic feeling encroaches upon the seventeen songs of this album, a great nostalgic atmosphere with classical influences create impressive dark sound. The texts are inspired by poems of E.A Poe, Bequer, W. Blake, Espronceda..."
Splendor Solis (lat. Shining of the Sun) mixes typical dark folk insruments, neoclassical compositional methods and early European musical heritage. Theirs lyrics are inspired by medieval European theology, apocalyptic symbolism, and also by theosophical doctrines and mystical branches of buddism. Splendor Solis' debut album is dedicated to the infinite reincarnation of soul of a man. The album has been created using acoustic instruments only. Music of Splendor Solis is nice, harmonious, not very intricate but melodious right along.
Exquisite gold-surfaced CD comes in hard crafted cardboard sleeve with 12-page booklet in semi-transparent vellum cover.
This one is a stroke of genius. Nordic Folk? Ha! This is much more Svarti Loghin captured the cold atmosphere and transfers this into a mixture between ancient folk art, and Johnny Cash(!). Between a prayer, depression, devotion and pure love for live. To be honest: just listen to it ´cause I can´t describe it in words.
Quote from label:"Mini CD of WALDEN (Germany) with total playing time of 21 minutes. “WALDEN” is printed in cardboard digifile with conceptual design, based on photos taken by Antonia Vicheva in the glorious mountains Rhodopy in Bulgaria.
Slow and melancholic music with Nordic feeling and a lot of passion despite its minimalistic character. Gentle and in the same time thrilling acoustic guitar tunes played in honor of the Awakening of the Mother Nature after the long cold winter. The music is slow, melodic and in the same time dramatic at places".
