Featuring members of the widely acclaimed (and now sadly defunct) Red Sky, and current members of Nemo, Papercut Homicide create a devastating attack on the senses, with influences drawn from the entire spectrum of extreme music. Imagine a lethal concoction of Cephalic Carnage, Dillinger Escape Plan, Pig Destroyer and Acid Bath and you can soon see that this is one record that will floor anyone within a ten mile radius
Ohio's Sofa King Killer are on a bender. Blending hook-laden doom riffs, grooving tempo shifts, blues licks and whiskey-burned vocals, SKK are out to kick your ass. High-quality sludge/metal/hardcore, that draws from the likes of Down, Eyehategod and Entombed, yet with a feel of their own. Well-executed and heavy as hell, Sofa King Killer's memorable grooves will leave you deaf. -Thunderdome Booking.com
Founded in 1999 as a jam project SKK quickly turned heads after releasing the Leechmilk/Sofa King Killer split on Tee Pee Records. After touring the US several times, SKK recorded the 'Lust, Crime And Holiness' ep for At A Loss Recordings.
In May 2004 Sofa King Killer released the long awaited debut lp MIDNIGHT MAGIC on the UK's Retribute Records. MIDNIGHT MAGIC is the most fully realized release to date, defining what SKK is all about: THE RIFF.
The US release of City Of Dis, the debut full length from Oakland, CA indie thrashers THE MASS delivers unto us a scalding blast of sax-assisted King Crimson-meets-Slayer art|thrash|core worship, all light-speed riffing, shrieking vox and burly singing, malevolent soft jazz, insidious tempo shifts, and bloodthirsty dynamics. Disparate elements of No Wave, damaged pop, grindcore, post-punk, thrash metal and math-rock are crafted into a blast of hyperkinetic fury, and is catchy as fuck. Pure audio dissent. THE MASS feature current and former members of FROM MONUMENTS TO MASSES and TOTIMOSHI. Recorded at Louder Studios in San Francisco with producer Tim Green (THE FUCKING CHAMPS, MELVINS, UNWOUND ). The Crucial Blast release of City Of Dis features enhanced CD-Rom video footage not available on the original European release, as well as slightly different artwork and design.
Digipack - Quote from C.B. : The 2nd album from Oakland California's THE MASS further refines the band's unique brand of malevolent indie-thrash, oozing a crawling heaviness not apparent on earlier releases. Crushing, epic, and melodic...moving beyond the hyperkinetic seizures of City Of Dis, here THE MASS whip out blazing, staccato riffs and multifaceted vocal attacks that knife through complex structures and sludgy, epic elegies, as wicked saxophone melodies interweave with angular crunch and creepy nocturnal post-rock. Like a stuttering, bat-winged Bay Area thrash metal outfit arming itself with Louisville/Chicago schooled math-thug asymmetry, pounding dirge-core, and fierce, evocative jazz flourishes while lobbing some whopping bonged-out grooves, THE MASS continues to evolve its cryptic heaviosity.
Quote from label: "After seven years of existence, several European tours (one of them with THE LOCUST), three fewer members, and two 7 inches, the parisian noise hardcore punk duo WARSAWWASRAW unveils its first album "Sensitizer".
The band delivers 17 challenging tracks of raw and singular complexity. Beyond short and abrasive songs that destroy everything on their path, some elaborate heavier numbers like "Hell's Angles" or "Hidden Ashes" add width to the experience and serve as the backbone of the record.
Somewhere between CONVERGE, THE LOCUST and FUCKED UP, the parisian duo afirms its identity with this record and establishes itself as a pionner of the French and European forward-thinking chaotic hardcore punk scene."
